Spring Has Well and Truly Sprung!

Now, as much as I love a cosy, rainy, winter’s day, where you get to wear your favourite knit jumpers, and wrap up warm; there is, however, just something quite special about a perfectly sunny and bright Spring Day. Spring is very quickly becoming my favourite season.

 

Particularly this year, I seem to be extra appreciative of the many joys of Spring. From wholesome Easter celebrations to the many different variations of fun hot cross buns available, the gorgeous array of daffodils and tulips, walks in the sunshine, and of course the longer evenings!

 

Daffodils and walks in the sun, are just some of the small moments during spring that are so valuable, however those moments have reminded me that in life, it’s the day-to-day, supposedly ‘insignificant’ moments that really are the most memorable, enjoyable and precious.

 

That is what makes spring feel so perfect, it is a very wholesome time of year, where you are reminded of the small moments being so important. Plus, as nature grows, evolves, and blossoms, it encourages us to do the same. This could be spring cleaning and decluttering your space or doing something out of your comfort zone.

 

So, here are 10 things I am doing this Spring, to better improve my life! Hopefully this blog post can motivate you to make the most out of this gorgeous time of year; the time of year that serves as a mid-year reminder that things will start to look up. A reminder that it is more than okay to reset and restart at any point of the year, if that’s what will better you and your life!  

 

Being Present


As an over thinker, it can be difficult to be present, as worrying about the future is too easy! It is essential to take every day as it comes, as by doing so, will make thinking about the future way less overwhelming!

 

Having a Consistent Routine


Giving myself plenty of time in morning before work or waking up slightly earlier on my days off to make the most out of the day! However, don’t get me wrong, I do need a lie in occasionally! Balance is key! Including getting rest! It is equally as important to go to bed at a consistent time too!

 

Get Outside


The lovely sunshine we have been having calls for walks and sitting outside wherever possible! As you know, tomorrow could be heavy rain! Feeling the warm sun brings me so much peace and allows me to be present.

 

Hobbies


I have always been a lover of crafts and to see various people creating unique crafts on social media, is making my heart SO happy. Focusing on crafts allows you to switch off, it can be very therapeutic. The crafts could be sewing, embroidery, painting, using clay, knitting or crochet; there are so many to choose from. Eventually, you will have personal and unique decorations for your home, or something you made to add to your wardrobe!

 

Appreciating The Small Moments


As I said previously, the small moments in life can be the most special and create so much gratitude! Buying yourself fresh flowers every week, having a slow morning and enjoying your morning coffee before work, or treating yourself to a takeaway because simply, you deserve it!


 

Exercise/Movement


As much as it’s great for your physical health, exercise is a mood booster and benefits your mental health. It is a chance to focus solely on the movement, and feeling good, because when you feel good, you feel happier!

 

Goal Setting


Goals can be forgotten or overlooked as life gets busy. Every now and then it's good to pause and reflect on previous and current goals, and adding any other goals you would want to achieve for the rest of this year or in the future. Although goal making can seem daunting, so you could form smaller tasks to make the end goal seem way more achievable!

 

Taking Time to Wear and Style Outfits


Each season brings many fun styles you can play around with, and now the weather is slowly warming up, outfits don’t need to be covered with coats! Cute summer dresses, skirts and sunnies! I love taking every day to spend just a few extra moments to construct outfits that will make me feel my best, and set me up for the day!

 

Spending Time With Loved Ones


This one is pretty self-explanatory, surrounding yourself with the right people can seriously revive you, and make you feel so much better! A bit of friend/family time is a great time to recognise how much you appreciate them.

 

Less Phone Time


Personally, the longer I spend on my phone or scroll on social media; I never feel great. So, my goal is less phone time, focusing on my hobbies, reading before bed, and just getting my screen time lower! All in all bettering my mental health!

 

These are the smaller goals I am hoping to attain this Spring and into Summer. As the weather gets brighter, there seems to be a positive feeling in the air, which is definitely uplifting my well-being.

 

I hope you can take a moment to focus on being present and boosting your own well-being! There are so many little moments to be grateful for at this time of year, so let’s enjoy the beauty of what Spring and Summer provides us!
