As the season is slowly starting to turn cooler, colder, and crisper; our routines, our clothing and habits begin to change with it. Throughout the autumn and winter months, we naturally begin to start settling down, wrapping up warm, drinking all the festive, warm drinks and getting back into a routine. Autumn is one of my favourite times of year, the start of cosy knitwear, all things pumpkin spice and darker aesthetics. Just like summer, I have some necessities I use and love to make the switch in seasons easier!

Knitwear/Jumpers
During these months, you can seriously never have enough knitwear and jumpers, including cute, over-sized cardigans! Paired with jeans, skirts, or your favourite pair of trousers. Perfect to dress up for work, uni, or dressed down for crisp walks or movie nights on the weekend.

Festive Hot Drinks
I don’t know about you, but I genuinely look forward to Costa’s release of festive drinks, ESPECIALLY their chocolate orange hot chocolate! However, Costa have also recently released their ‘Maple Hazel’ range and it could not be any more perfect for Autumn. However, even just extra cups of tea in your favourite mug, whilst watching bake off is still just as good!

A Staple Pair of Boots
The weather is unpredictable during this time of year, we can still have the last of our sunny days, or some days you can’t leave the house because it is raining so much! So, it is important to have a staple pair of boots to get you through all weathers! (And to add a little something extra to your outfits!) I bought my first pair of Doc Martens about 6 years ago now, and I always dust them off during the colder months! They are sturdy, tie outfits together and are just cool shoes! A worth-while purchase.

Hydrating Moisturisers
Investing in self-care during the chilly months is something I believe is worthwhile, that could include hand creams, body butters, skincare, face masks or bubble baths. Adding to the serious cosy vibes, but also taking care of your physical and emotional well-being!

Dark Nail Polishes
Transitioning over to darker colours, either in clothing, or nail colours, is common during this time of year, as it mirrors the darker evenings and adds to all the cosy feels! Dark reds or oranges, browns, and blacks!

Fluffy Socks
Perfect for evenings in, and to keep you warm!

Comfort Films and TV Shows
This time of year is the best time for TV! Firstly, Bake Off starting up again, and of course all the autumnal, Halloween films, like ‘You’ve Got Mail’, ‘Hocus Pocus’ or Tim Burtons ‘Corpse Bride’! They are all easy, mindless watches, ideal for the many relaxing nights in you will have.

Cosy Loungewear and Pyjamas
Additionally for the peaceful nights, investing in some comfortable, and warm loungewear or pyjamas! There is nothing better than wearing a matching pyjama set after a self-care evening.

Throws and Blankets
Cuddled up on the sofa, or in bed, with fluffy blankets is the ultimate cosy vibes! Nevertheless, I love my throws for decoration in my room.

Festive Baking
Last but not least, whether your favourite flavour is pumpkin spice, spiced apple, gingerbread, cinnamon or salted caramel, baking is a great way to in cooperate these festive flavours. A pumpkin-spiced loaf, cinnamon muffins or a spiced apple crumble! Although, these cupcakes I made here, are simply vanilla and to add that Halloween touch, I decorated them! Even if you aren't keen on those flavours you can still add an autumnal touch with fun decorations!
